My name is Justin Lee Stanley.

I am an award-winning filmmaker whose primary body of work is documentary television.

I’ve directed dramatic recreations for some of the most highly-rated true crime TV series such as EVIL LIVES HERE, DEAD OF WINTER, SHATTERED, SIGNS OF A PSYCOPATH, TWO SHALLOW GRAVES, and BEFORE THEY KILL AGAIN.

As a cinematographer, I’ve photographed over a hundred hours of TV, two feature films (ALMOST FAMILY, BEATBOX,) and I was the DP for Jane Wagner’s feature documentary BREAK THE GAME — which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2023.

My latest project, STRONGER THAN THE STORM, is currently on the film festival circuit and recently won the Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award for Best Short Documentary at the 2025 Gasparilla International Film Festival.
